The consumer protection watchdog in Germany has observed that Microsoft isn't following a justifiable method to deliver upgrades and should stop its practices immediately.

But until now, Microsoft has published a list of known issues in these builds, which explains to Insiders specific problems, what they affect, their impact, and any workarounds.

Windows users in Germany were particularly unimpressed when Microsoft forcibly downloaded many gigabytes of files to upgrade from Windows 7 and 8 to Windows 10.

Microsoft is yet to fully confirm that it will extend the policy to its now twice-yearly operating system forced updates as the ruling only applies to complete operating systems.

Even as Microsoft winds down the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, its Insiders are still receiving new capabilities. Instead, you can use your laptop's rear camera to take a picture and project the 3D object into the scene.

In a press release published on Monday, the Baden-Würtenberg consumer rights center said it was glad Microsoft decided to admit to all accusations but was displeased that the OS maker "unnecessarily hindered a quick legal clarification" after several "procedural wrinkles" that dragged out the investigation for more than a year and a half. If you're not already within the Skip Ahead branch, even 'generic' Insiders won't see this until the Fall Creators Update drops, at which point the two tracks will converge again.

This is not the only Windows 10-related lawsuit that Microsoft has faced.
